About Nick

Nick Chamernik is a Chicago-based freelance lighting designer, lighting supervisor, and ETC Eos programmer. As a multifaceted artist and technician, Nick revels in his ability to blend his creative expression and technical aptitude with a passion for collaborative and innovative storytelling.

Nick has an extensive background in the development, fabrication, and implementation of lighting plots, generating/updating related paperwork, scheduling and hiring freelance labor, managing budgets, directing and supervising union and non-union crews, running focus calls, and programming on ETC Eos family consoles.

Nick currently serves as the Lighting Supervisor for Chicago Children’s Theatre, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, and Theater Wit.

When he’s not busy freelancing, Nick can typically be found creative writing, listening to podcasts, playing TTRPGs, and (weather permitting) hiking, swimming, and camping.
